Akhmat is a Chechen special forces unit, led by Alaudinov, a key figure in the inner circle of Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov. Formed in 2022, Akhmat has played a significant role in the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, fighting alongside Russian forces. Alaudinov, a former law enforcement officer nown for his strong loyalty to Kadyrov, became the leader of Akhmat following its creation and has been a prominent spokesperson for the Russian Ministry of Defense, particularly in the Kursk region.Rusich is a paramilitary group often depicted as neo-Nazi, primarily involved in sabotage and reconnaissance operations in Ukraine. Founded by Milchakov, the group is notorious for its extreme nationalist and violent ideology, in addition of the use of Nazi-inspired symbols, such as the Kolovrat. The group has gained notoriety for its brutal tactics and has been linked to the Wagner Group.

Alaudinov published a video discussing the Ukrainian military's advance in the Kursk region, mentioning the difficult days they faced. He added that Milchakov and his deputy visited him. In the video, Alaudinov emphasized the importance of a shared nationalistic vision for the future of Russia, distinguishing between those who seek national improvement, based on the nation's "original roots", and those who claim to be "cooler" than others. Milchakov later stated that the meeting had been friendly and that they had agreed on a common approach to resolving conflict situations and building personal relationships.

Milchakov rejected criticism of the interaction, asserting that he was free to choose his associates. However, earlier in April, Telegram channels associated with Rusich expressed disapproval of Alexander Kuznetsov, former commander of the Wagner Group’s first assault detachment, for joining Akhmat.

The relationship between Rusich, Wagner, and Akhmat is sometimes criticized due to ideological differences, as Akhmat is a Chechen Muslim unit, while Rusich and Wagner are associated with nationalist and white supremacist ideologies. This contrast in religious and ethnic identity has caused tensions in the most extreme fringes of these organizations, with some factions disapproving of Akhmat's growing influence within the Russian military structure.
